11 Chinese Ballistic Missiles Fired Near Taiwan, U.S. Embarks USS America From Japan

Taiwan's Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the People's Liberation Army Rocket Force fired 11 missiles into the waters around Taiwan during a series of military exercises.

According to the MoD, the PLARF fired 11 DF-15 short-range ballistic missiles into waters to the northeast and southwest of Taiwan.

Taiwan's military has activated their defense systems and issued a high alert, monitoring the situation in various ways. Taiwan said that we strongly condemn this action of China, which has endangered regional peace.

China claims to have conducted live fire exercises in the Taiwan Strait. According to the Associated Press, the People's Liberation Army has announced that it has used a long-range missile at targets in the Strait of Taiwan.

After the visit of US leader Nancy Pelosi ended, China has taken this action. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang yi has called Nancy Pelosi's visit irresponsible and irrational.

In addition, the PLA Navy has deployed both its aircraft carriers CNS Liaoning (16) and CNS Shandong (17) this week, USNI News reported.

USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), its escorts and Carrier Air Wing 5 and its escorts are underway in the Philippine Sea. USS Tripoli (LHA-7), which has embarked with up to 20 F-35Bs, is off Okinawa and USS America (LHA-6) has recently departed Sasebo, Japan, a defense official confirmed to USNI News on Thursday.
