Taiwan's President went to America and said stinging things to China; raging dragon
Addressing the people of the Taiwanese American community in New York, Wen said that today we and America are closer than ever in history.
His statement is believed to be irritating to China, which has been opposing visits between the governments of the US and Taiwan. China says that it is against its One China policy.
Tsai Ing-wen arrived in New York on Wednesday, where she spent Thursday.
During this, he thanked America in his speech on Wednesday night. He said that America has strengthened our security and has given continuous support.
He said that if Taiwan is safe then the world will be safe. He said that Taiwan, together with its democratic countries, will continue to strive to take the world in the direction of democracy.
However, in the meantime, pro-China people also protested outside Sai Ing-wen's program.
These people shouted slogans against Taiwan and waved Chinese flags.
Not only this, a protester who was carrying a placard was also arrested.
It was written in this placard that the President of Taiwan is the biggest traitor of China.
Meanwhile, the Chinese government has also warned Taiwan not to go to America and talk against us.
The Chinese government said that we are monitoring Sai Ing-wen's visit.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said, "We oppose any kind of official meeting between the US and Taiwan."
He said that we are keeping a close watch to protect our security and sovereignty.
Significantly, the proposed meeting between the President of Taiwan and the Speaker of the US Parliament, Kevin McCarthy, has been opposed by China.
However, till now nothing has been officially said about this meeting from the US or Taiwan.
