Britain and India have pledged to partner on a new fighter jet competition.

The UK and India are set to strengthen their defense and security ties, including a partnership on fighter jet competition aircraft.

The announcement was made by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson during a visit to Delhi on Thursday.

Johnson has said that the defense cooperation agreement will boost procurement in many areas, but he gave some details during a press conference ending India's two-day visit, saying that the main goal of the visit was mainly a free trade between nations.

Negotiations on trade agreements were to move forward.

Boris Johnson said the two countries would seek defense procurement to deal with the threat in the land, sea and air space cyber sector,
including a partnership on new combatant Jat competition to detect and respond to threats at sea.

Related to British efforts to bring India into the sixth generation Tempest Future Combat Air Systems program, launched by the British in 2018, has been a topic of conversation with India for some time, with international partners' fighter jets.

The emphasis is on attracting growth.

The UK has already partnered with Italy and Sweden on technology development efforts.

BAE Systems, Leonardo, MBDA, Rolls Royce, and Saab are leading the early stages of the technology development program.

A statement issued by the British High Commission in India stated that the two leaders mentioned cooperation in key areas of strategic cooperation, including advanced fighter jets and advanced jet engine technology.

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has said in a statement that he welcomed the announcement of an Open General Expert License to facilitate technology integration with India related to the defense system.

India has welcomed the open opportunity to participate in the United Kingdom's aviation, naval shipbuilding programs.

On the maritime front, India and the UK have also agreed to partner on power generation capacity.

Where in Johnson, we agree on a new expanded defense and security partnership that will build stronger ties between us.

Rather it will support your goal of Make in India.

India is one of the world's largest importers of defense technology but has a Russian dominated market of over 50%.
