Biden says US would respond 'militarily' if China attacked Taiwan, but White House insists there's no policy chang

The Defense Secretary of the United States has just recently made a statement, saying that the US policy on Taiwan has not changed.
I think the President was clear on the fact that the policy has not changed and the Defense Secretary said in a press conference.
Earlier on Monday, when asked whether the US would be militarily involved if Taiwan was attacked, he replied in the affirmative and said it was the commitment of the United States of America.
US President Joe Biden has explicitly pledged to defend Taiwan in a US policy change.
and has vowed to intervene militarily to defend the island if it is attacked.
