DRDO successfully test-fires laser-guided ATGMs
The minimum to maximum target range of ATGMs has been successfully engaged.
DRDO has done wonders, DRDO has successfully test-fired the indigenously developed Laser Guided Anti Tank Guided (ATGM) missile. This is a big achievement for India, due to which India's strength will increase further, India's defense system will become stronger.
DRDO and Indian Army successfully test-fired this indigenously developed missile from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun in collaboration with Armored Corps Center and School (ACC&S) Ahmednagar in KK range. The missiles struck with precision and successfully hit targets at two different ranges. On this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO and Indian Army.
The ATGM has been developed with multi-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical trial trials with MBT Arjun's 120 mm rifled gun. This indigenous anti-tank guided missile is fitted with a Tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) weapon, which is capable of destroying armored vehicles with state-of-the-art Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) armor.
Significantly, India is continuously taking steps towards self-reliance. In this sequence, India has achieved another success by testing this missile. Earlier in June, the DRDO and the Indian Army successfully test-fired an indigenously built tank destroyer missile at the KK range in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
Defense Minister of India Rajnath Singh has congratulated the scientists of DRDO and the Indian Army on the successful test of Laser Guided ATGM.
