US, Indonesia hold joint military drills amid China’s concerns, Garuda Shield expanded.

More than 5000 jawans from United States and Indonesia and other countries have started joint combat exercise, which is being done near Sumitra Island in Indonesia. This exercise will prove to be effective against the increasing strength of China in the Indo-Pacific region.
There is a type of annual military test, which is addressed as Garuda Shield, this war exercise has been taking place since 2009. But this year many other countries including Australia and Japan have strengthened this war exercise.
The American Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, has informed that this exercise is designed to strengthen cooperation and cooperation in an open Indo-Pacific.
This war exercise will further strengthen the bond between the United States and Indonesia. General Charles Flynn, commanding US Pacific Army, would provide this strong position.
Flynn and Indonesia’s military chief General Andika Perkasa opened the joint drills with a ceremony on Wednesday morning in Baturaja, a coastal town in South Sumatra province.
The exercises, encompassing army, navy, air force and marine drills, will last until August 14.
US General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the past few years have seen a lot of China's activity in the Pacific Ocean, and a lot of that reflects the wrongdoing.
He also told that the Chinese Army, Air Force and Navy are also very active in this area.
While Indonesia and China enjoy generally positive ties, Jakarta has expressed concern about Chinese encroachment on its exclusive economic zone in the South China Sea, which China claims virtually in its entirety.
