Why did India offer Chittagong Port to Bangladesh? 

 Try to understand this. On 28 April, India's Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar was on a visit to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. 

Bangladesh has offered Chittagong port to India to increase connectivity with the northeastern states.

 Chittagong Port is very important for India, it can improve India's connectivity with the states of Northeast. 

 With this, the relations between India and Bangladesh will strengthen. 

 But the question is why Bangladesh has offered Chittagong port to India.

 Experts believe that Bangladesh has asked India to improve connectivity in its northeastern states, what will it benefit Bangladesh?

 Bangladesh strengthens its trade through cargo. 

The reason is that Dhaka has bet on Chittagong Port.  

 There are some major reasons why Bangladesh wants to overtake Myanmar. 

 Many restrictions are imposed on Myanmar, but still the economy of Myanmar continues to grow. 

In such a situation, Bangladesh fears that Myanmar can compete with Bangladesh in many sectors. 

 Bangladesh believes that India can depend on Myanmar for better connectivity with its northeastern states. 

 India has developed Sittwe Port with Myanmar under the Kaladana Multi Modal Project. 

 This will not only benefit India but also Myanmar's economy will be further strengthened. India is becoming a manufacturing hub in the world.

 Bangladesh needs help from India. Recently, the US has banned the Rapid Action Battalion of Bangladesh.
